Following a Line of Ants

Have you ever noticed a line of ants moving across the ground? At first, they may look like tiny black dots, but if you watch closely, you will see something quite amazing.

The ants walk in a steady line, one after another, as if they know exactly where they are going. Some carry tiny crumbs or pieces of food, carefully held as they make their way along.

If you follow them, you might discover where they are heading. Sometimes, they lead back to a hidden nest. Other times, they are travelling to a place where food has been found.

Ants work together as a team. Each one has a role, and they help one another to complete their task. Even though they are small, they are strong and determined.

Next time you see a line of ants, take a moment to watch them. There is a whole busy world happening right beneath your feet.
