Exam Time… for Parents Too

Have you ever noticed something interesting during exam season?

Sometimes, it is not the children who are the most worried—it is the parents.

In Singapore, school is taken seriously. There are tests, exams and important milestones along the way. Children study, revise and prepare as best as they can. Some feel nervous, some feel ready and many simply take it one step at a time.

But around them, parents are often watching closely.

“Did you revise?”

“Are you ready?”

“Do you need more tuition?”

The care comes from a good place. Parents want their children to do well, to have choices and to feel confident about the future. But sometimes, the worry grows bigger than the moment itself.

Interestingly, many children, after studying, simply sit down and do the paper. They try, they think and then they move on.

Perhaps exam time is not just a time for children to be calm and focused. It is also a gentle reminder for parents to take a breath, trust the effort and allow space for learning to happen.

Because in the end, it is not just about the marks. It is about growing, step by step.
